Singing In The Rain | High School Senior Photos
After years of taking other people's children's senior photos, it's my turn. Annie is entering her senior year this fall, and, oh, the plans we have for her senior portraits. We have several different themed shoots, but it's hard to imagine I will end up liking any of them more than this one. I'm not sure where the idea for senior portraits in the rain was born...except that one day I woke up and it was fully realized in my brain. I just needed to find the wardrobe and find the time to do it...and a rainy day, to boot. Protecting the gear was pretty important. Both off-camera flashes were securely housed in clear ziplock freezer bags. The camera and lens were both under an umbrella AND had a handy-dandy camera rain sleeve. You can get rain sleeves for your camera on Amazon for as little as 9.99 for two. Cheap, easy and just a little extra protection if the rain is coming in sideways. The 5D Mark III I shoot with is weather resistant, but I still tend to lean toward caution. It was a fun evening. We shot for probably only a half hour and literally just stepped outside into our driveway for these. The prep took more time than the shoot (but isn't that always true?)
