Amanda and Billy have been together since....wait for it....MIDDLE SCHOOL!!! I know, right?!!! How cool is that? To think that Kurt and I had the privilege of shooting their wedding literally makes goosebumps pop up on my arms. They are an amazing couple and such warm, wonderful people.
Shall I stop gushing and get to some pics? :)
The priest looked a little startled when I announced that the bride would be getting ready in what amounted to a little back hallway between the kitchen and the storage closet...but I took one look and knew... gorgeous light and texture, with the added bonus of actually giving us a feel for the age of their historic church. Crazy photographer in the hallway for the win! :D
What is it they say? "The party don't start 'til I walk in..." :)
It's is always a bit of a thrill for me when I download Kurt's cards at the end of the night. It is completely worth it to me to stay up until 1am after a wedding backing up our cards. After all, I know what I shot, but seeing our shots come together makes me feel like a kid in a candy store. :) I guess I know how this little guy feels.
No, really, Kurt, you SLAY me when I see what you've captured. It is weird that I cry for these mother/son, father/daughter dances at every single wedding? Literally, I have to wipe the tears from my face to even be able to take the shots. Most of my dance shots are full body or 3/4...and then Kurt lowers the boom with these killers.
When I heard the guys mention that they were heading to the parking lot for some cigars, no lie, I jumped up and tried to high five them. No, no, no. I'm not encouraging damaging your lungs. That would be bad of me. So very bad....buuuuutttt, if you're going to smoke, just lemme set up a couple of speedlights for some photographs, will ya? ;)
Kurt and I are always aiming to get that last shot of the couple at the end of the night. We brought Amanda out with Billy to the parking lot...and I think I'm a little in love with this one of Billy and Amanda just before the reception wound down.
