Pre-Wedding Consultation Form | For Photographers

Before each wedding, I try to have an up close and personal with my bride and groom within the month prior to the wedding. This isn't a replacement for the wedding contract, but it is a great way to double-check all those important facts like times, locations, phone numbers, etc.

It's also a really great time to provide gentle reminders to your couples of little things they may not have thought of, like remembering to bring a nice hanger for the dress, etc.

Most importantly, it gives me the opportunity to be sure that I am going into their wedding with the right priorities for that couple. I always shoot for the album. Always. I have a story-telling style that translates to the page to give a complete picture of that wedding day. So, while many of the questions are purely practical, others are there to help me be ready to represent the wedding my couples want represented. This in no way impacts my style, but it lets me give my couples what they want. For example, if my couple tells me that their "three words" are "family, joy and intimacy", my focus will be different than if their three words are "elegant, refined, romantic".

You may notice that I do not have a "shot list" on this questionnaire. I do ask if there are specific people that they wish to have photographs of. However, it is my policy to have my couples establish a "go-to" person who is responsible for that list, knows the people on the list and are the responsible party for making sure they are available and ready for their shots, which is why one of the questions refers to that person, versus the specific shot list.

I have decided to make this form available to other photographers (and brides, if they wish) in the hopes that it will make those last minute consultation sessions a little easier. Please DO feel free to re-write and re-make the list to suit your own needs. Certainly, you may download it and print it as-is, but you may prefer to see it as a jumping off point for your own ideas.

The download is free. Simply follow the link, click "menu" on the upper left corner of the image and select "download".
