It's sometimes a little embarrassing when it seems as though I get all the "credit" for our wedding images. I suppose it was natural, at first. I was the first photographer, still am the "principle" photographer. I go to the meetings. I shoot the engagement sessions and the high school seniors. I am the "face" of Angelhouse Photography. But it's time to come clean. I never want to do a wedding without this guy.
Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to work with her husband (or would even want to). Me? At every wedding I am reminded of just what an awesome guy Kurt is.
HE is the reason we have come so far. He stands behind me (or beside me); he hauls our gear; he second shoots; he makes me look good. And he does it without ever taking credit for how hard he works.
I'm going to tell you a secret. He works harder than I do at a wedding. Because he's carrying our gear, he's second shooting and he's anticipating my every request before I ever make it.
So, it's time to give a little credit where credit it due.
Case in point.
I took this photograph.

There are so many shots just like that. Truth is, sometimes I have to double check the card to see which one of us took the shot. Our vision is so in sync with one another. And then there are those other times when he's not shooting, but what he's doing is just as important. He didn't take this shot, but Kurt definitely helped make this shot. He circles me like a vulture (lol) and keeps a constant eye on what I'm doing so we can sync our flashes together. This image is sweet, but photography is light. Without Kurt bouncing exactly the light I needed exactly where I needed it, this image would have been lacking that infinitesimal something.
He never tells me my ideas are nuts. I think if I told him to climb in that chandelier to get the light the way I wanted it, he would have just said "how long do you need me there?"
Smiles,
Angelina
